7. Objectives and Requirements:
To give students an introduction to the types of oral interpreting, with emphasis on consecutive interpreting, and a training in both note-taking and memory enhancing; and to foster their interpreting competence on formal occasions.
8. Contents:
Covering general occasions such as foreign guests receiving and accompanying, shopping, visiting, sightseeing, opening and choosing ceremony speech delivering, banquet toasting, advertising and publicity, airport meeting, conference interpreting, etc. Theoretically, this course covers the fundamentals of basic interpreting theories, such as the history of interpreting as a career, the classifications of interpreting, the features of interpreting, the yardsticks for judging interpreting, the attributes for a successful interpreter, the identification and equivalent rendering of linguistic styles, the cross-cultural awareness of the interpreter, techniques on how to recognize and render the fuzzy messages in interpreting, and so on.

7. Objectives and Requirements:
Based on what learners have acquired in the previous consecutive interpreting course, further interpreting drills (on memory training, numbers treatment, shadow exercises in simultaneous interpreting) are incorporated into the linguistic contexts concerned with various business activities, and more focus is centered on fostering learners’ interpreting competence, both consecutive and simultaneous, on simulated authentic occasions.

Covering every possible aspect of business activities, such as business negotiations, business presentations, international news briefings, international marketing, business management, conference speeches, corporate culture, money and banking, international finance, IT industries etc.,

1. 教学目的:
本课目的是让学生掌握口译的概念、原则及相关特点。学生通过讲授了解口译的分类、
口译与笔译的异同、学习口译的方法和一些重要问题,从而对口译学习建立基本的认识。

课堂讲解为主,引入口译学习的重要问题。

(2) 讲解口译的历史发展;
(3) 讲解口译的三种主要类型;
(4) 讲解口译与笔译的异同点;
