KEYWORDSzGabarnaudiabetae,tomgmin,Hyphomycetes GabarnaudiawasestablishedbySamsonandW.GalIlsin1974,thegenusnal'neisdedicatedtothelate FrenchmycologistGabrielAmaud(Samson,1974).ThegenusisproposedtoaccomodateOosporabetaeDelacr., theconidialstateofSphaeronaemellafimicolaMarcha1.GabarnaudiatholisporaAmaudexSamson&W.Gams andG.humicolaSamson&W.Gamsfteleomorph:Sphaeronaemel~humicolaSamson&W.Gams). GabarnaudiaSamson&W.GamsinSamson,StudiesinMycology,6:88,1974. Colonieswhite,growingmoderatelyfastonmalt?agarmedium,withthinaerialmycelia.Hyphaesmooth andseptate,hyaline,upto4lamwide.Conidiophoresbasitonouslyormesotonouslybranche d,thin—walledand littledifferentiatedfromvegetativehyphae.Phialidesawl?shaped,discreteorintegratedinplagiotropicseptate branches,withapicalinternalwall?thickening.Conidiaproducedinbasipetalsuccession,ofteninlongchains, sometimesslimingdownwithage,one?ceHed,cylindrical,fusiformorellipsoidal,smooth, hyaline.
