English is one of the most important languages in the world. It’s necessary for us to learn it well. How do you study? Everyone learns English in different ways. Firstly I think the best way to improve your English is to improve your English skills. They are listening,reading and writing. We should practice them every day. We should remember more words and grammar. Read more English story books or novels. Watch more English cartoon TVs or movies. Listen to English tapes and repeat after the speaker. Secondly don’t be afraid to make any mistakes and speak English as much as possible. Thirdly a sk the teachers when you don’t understand any knowledge .It’s very good for you if you are interested in English. You will find studying English is interesting and helpful. I’m so happy that I can be admitted by my dream school. The new campus gives me a new start so I have a dream that in the future I can rise out this small world and hold a place of myself, after several years’ experience. In order to make this dream come true, I ask myself not only to focus my attention on studies, because I should face all the society not only my textbooks or my classmates. I think college is also a small society where I can improve myself .For example I should learn how to get along with others though I may dislike them ,or how to deal with things that I used to regard as worthless and so on.. Thank you! 大学版 Change the world Change Ourselves Good evening, honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great pleasure to stand here to present my speech—Change the World, Change Ourselves. It’s noticeable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while Chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. Not long before about 10 Doctors in Beijing University and Qinghua University announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays, because they regard western holidays as a challenge against our traditional festivals and culture. Frankly speaking, I don’t quite agree with them. Indeed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditional festivals as China boasts a brilliant history a nd splendid traditions. (Examples).But why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture. There are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in China. On the one hand, some of the western holidays which we Chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as Father’s Day and April Fool’s Day etc. On the other hand, the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in China. Overwhelmed by such a trend, Chinese unconsciously get involved in western holidays and culture. With the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. We are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the common wealth of everyone on the earth. The only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? The answer is definitely no. What we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate Chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. Only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. Only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancestors left for us. At last I’d like to share a famous saying of Gandhi with all of you, that is: If you want to change the world, then you must change yourself first.” A Young Idler, an Old Beggar Almost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying:A young idler, an old beggar. Throughout history,we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true. It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life,during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition,one is less likely to be under great pressure from career,family and health problems when young. Therefore,a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life. Of course,we all know:no pains,no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us,it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students,we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future. 少壮不努力,老大徒伤悲 几乎所有人都知道中国有一句老话:少壮不努力,老大徒伤悲.通过阅读历史,我们从一个又一个的案例当中得知,这句话被证实是真确的. 不用说都知道,在青年时期,人的智力和身体状况都是一生中最好的,这也是一个人一生中最好的时期.在这个处处都不停地转变,飞快地发展的世界里,年轻使人相对地用更少的时间去学习和领悟新知.在这时,很少人会困在从事业上来的压力下,家庭和健康问也比较小.所以,一个清醒的脑袋加上巨大的能量就会成就人生中不同方面的成功. 当然,我们都知道:没有挫折就没有获得.如果我们没有好好努力去利用年轻带给我们的优胜之处,那就没有可能获得任何的成功.作为中学生,我们应该做到最好去学好每一个科目,这样的话,我们就可以为将来即将面对的挑战做好准备.
