Animal Farm is his most famous allegorical novel. This thesis will analyze the novel through the perspective of symbolization. There are many distinctive symbols, such as, pigs and horses in Animal Farm which serve as the basic foundation of my paper. My study discusses from the angle of allegory on animals and based on the groundwork of symbolization to analyze the true intention of George Orwell’s writing of Animal Farm. This paper is inspired from exploring the Animal Farm which explores a new world behind the past others’ superficial study. So it deserves a new study on Animal Farm from the perspective of symbolism. 1 / 8 This paper surveys the symbolization on Animal Farm from several aspects: the background and development and definition of the symbolization. Then, this thesis studies on the application of symbolism in Animal Farm. In this part, the paper mainly analyzes the reflection in reality of those days and four major symbols in the book. On the last part, this paper focuses on analyzing the application of symbolism on some plots. The conclusion is mainly discusses the mainly purpose of writing and limitation and further perspective.
