It is an international standard, which provides a functional subdivision of technical and financial ship or rig information. SFI consists of a technical account structure covering all aspects of ship/rig specification, and it can be used as a basic standard for all systems in the shipping/offshore industry. More than 6000 SFI systems have been installed worldwide. SFI is used by shipping and offshore companies, shipyards, consultancies, software suppliers, authorities and classification societies. Today, sales, marketing and upgrading of the SFI Group System is undertaken by SpecTec. ISO 9004, par. 5.1). In order to make a complete operation budget in a shipping company, it is necessary to link the Group System to a plan of finance accounts. Any suitable plan of finance accounts may be used together with SFI. SFI gives this industry a well structured and organized filing system for drawings, manuals, reports, and publications. The ship/rig is divided into 10 main Groups from 0 to 9. Only main Groups 1 to 8 are in use. The users may use Main Groups 0 and 9 for classifying other main components that are not covered by the SFI standard. Navigational equipment, manoeuvring machinery, anchoring equipment, and communication equipment. This group also includes special equipment such as equipment for fishing. 船舶的特定设备和机器。航行设备、操作设备、锚泊设备和通讯设备。此组还包括特定的设备,如捕 鱼设备。 4.1.5 Main Group 5 ­ Equipment for Crew and Passengers  Equipment, machinery, systems etc. serving crew and passengers, for example lifesaving equipment, furniture, catering equipment and sanitary systems. 主组5――船员设备、乘客设备:救生设备、家俱、伙食设备、卫生设备。 4.1.6 Main Group 6 ­ Machinery Main Components  Primary components in the engine room, for example main and auxiliary engines,propellers, plant, boilers, and generators. 主组6――机械主要部件:机舱中的主机、辅机、螺旋桨、设备、锅炉、发电机 等。 4.1.7 Main Group 7 ­ Systems for Machinery Main Components  Systems serving main machinery components, for example fuel and lubrication oil systems, starting air system, exhaust systems and automation systems. 主组7――机械主部件系统:燃油系统、滑油系统、起动空气系统、排气系统、自 动化系统。 4.1.8 Main Group 8 ­ Ship Common Systems  Central ship systems, for example ballast and bilge systems, fire fighting and wash down systems, electrical distribution systems etc. 主组8――中央船舶系统,压载和舱底水系统、消防系统、排水系统、电力分配系统。 4.1.9 SFI Coding Structure for Rig 平台的 SFI编码结构  The main groups of SFI for rig are as follows: SFI Group System – Product Description        13      Main Group 1 - Rig General 主组1――概述 Main Group 2 - Hull and Structure 主组2――船体和结构 Main Group 3 - Drilling Equipment and Systems主组3――钻井设备和系统 Main Group 4 - Platform Equipment 主组4-平台设备 Main Group 5 - Equipment for Crew 主组5――船员设备 Main Group 6 - Machinery Main Components 主组6――主机机器设备 Main Group 7 - Systems for Machinery main Components主组7-主机机械设 备系统 Main Group 8 - Platform Common Systems主组8――平台通用系统 4.2 SFI Detail and Material Codes (6 digit)SFI详细和材料编码(6-数字)  The detail and material codes cover components and materials that may be related to the individual sub-groups. In order to reach the component level, it might be necessary to break the sub-groups further down by using a detail code. One licence fee will be charged for each SFI installation. This means that one licence is required for each ship/site/rig that uses the coding structure of SFI.
