I will always remember what happened to me this morning. Mother got up late, so she had no time to prepare breakfast. I had to go to school without breakfast. After I put on my school uniform, I found my mother forgot to wash it. I felt hungry and angry. I rode my bike hurriedly to school. Unluckily, I knocked down an old man at a crossing. I was too scared to do anything, bu the old man said, “I’m all right. Don’t worry, boy.” I was deeply moved.
The old man forgave my carelessness, though I hurt him. It was wrong of me to be angry with my mother. So, learn to forgive others and you will find yourselves in a different situation. (2)
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today my topic is “Learning to get along with our
parents”.
These days, most of us feel it is hard to get along with our parents. We easily get angry for no reason and even don’t talk to them for days.
I think the causes are as follows. First, our parents only care about our marks and it makes us stressed. Second, we are unwilling to communicate with them.
It’s time for us to change. First, we can communicate with them, by sharing our joys and worries with them. Then, we can help do some housework to show our love for them. Finally, we should achieve a balance between our schoolwork and hobbies so that they won’t feel worried
about us.
That’s all for my topic. Thank you!

Hi! Welcome to Yangzhou.
Throughout history, Yangzhou has been famous for gardens. The Slender West Lake is and outstanding representative (杰出代表)of the lake gardens in China. It covers an area of about
123.6 hectares. It lies in the northwestern part of Yangzhou. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, many gardens were built along the Slender West Lake. Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty both visited the Slender West Lake during their southern inspection(视察) tours.
Among its many scenic spots, the Five-pavilion Bridge is not only the symbol of the Slender West Lake, but that of Yangzhou as well.
I hope you will enjoy your stay in Yangzhou!

There are some differences between a Chinese class and an American class. Let’s have a look.
In China, students address their teachers “Mr” or “Miss”. In class they always listen to teachers
and take notes carefully. Every time they ask a question, they will put up their hands first. However, in America, students sit around the desks, face to face. They have pretty relaxed rules. They can even drink during classes. Also, they can speak out in class freely.
I think they each have their own advantages. In a relaxed class, the students are free to voice their opinions and actively involved in all class activities. Students in classes with good management will know what to do and when they are supposed to do it.

Dear Joan,
Hello! I am glad to send you an e-mail to tell that I am getting more and more interested in English.
However, in the past I thought learning English meant learning grammar rules and words by heart. I didn’t like reading or speaking English, nor was I willing to practice dialogues with my classmates. I felt learning English was really boring.
Now with my English teacher’s help, I have come to realize we should learn English by
speaking English. So I begin to enjoy speaking English with others. I often read English newspapers and search English information on the Internet. I think it useful to learn English well. As a result, I have made great progress in English.
Yours,
Yang Mei

Dear Classmates,
As we all know, the earth is in trouble because we are polluting it. We must do something to save our earth.
Firstly, let’s try not to go to and from school by bus or car. We should walk or ride bikes instead. Secondly, why not use the used textbooks to save trees? Thirdly, we should stop using plastic bags when we go shopping or napkins when we eat in restaurants. Finally, remember to turn off the lights or taps whenever we’re not using them. Of course, that’s not all. We should
always try our best to do the things we can do to prevent polluting the planet.
The earth will be fine again if we all do our parts!

Recently many senior one students choose to go to summer camps overseas. But students hold different views as to whether it is practical.
60% of the students think it’s a good way to learn the language. Moreover, it can broaden their horizons. And to their joy, they find it’s meaningful to experience a different foreign life.
Meanwhile, the rest of the students don’t think the activity is necessary since most families can’t
afford the high expense. Besides, Senior One students are too young to adapt to a completely strange life because they depend mainly on parents at home.
As for me, I prefer to travel in China, which and not only make us learn more but also help our parents save a lot.

The survey shows that many students have become shortsighted at a very young age. At present, about 70% of the students are shortsighted. Here are some main causes.
Some students may not have enough sleep. Some students spend too much time reading or doing their homework without a rest. Some students even like to watch TV or use computers for a long time.
Here are some tips for you. First, it is a good habit to do eye exercises twice or three times a day. Second, to let your eyes have break, it is important to look away from the screen or the book once every15-30 minutes. Third, get more Vitamin A from fruit and vegetables, because food with Vitamin A can help with the health of your eyes.
Eyes are important to us because they let us see the world. Please try our best to protect them.
