A DILL PICKLE话剧本 A DILL PICKLE Love is the refreshment in our life,everybody can’t forget their first love.There is a story about Vera and Allen…….Six years ago,Vera was still yang.She met Allen and they fall in love,but with times goes by,she foung the feeling of love had gone,so they broke up.Today she saw him again, He was seated at one of those little bamboo tables decorated with a Japanese vase of paper daffodils.He must have felt that shock of recognition in her,for looked up and met her eyes,but did not know her.Now the actress came towards him with simle…… 第一幕——再相遇～ A: "Vera! How strange,Really, for a moment,I didn’t know you . You've had lunch? Won't you have some coffee? V: ( hesitated) Yes, I'd like some coffee.(服务员上咖啡) A: You've changed. You've changed very much. You look so well. I've never seen you look so well before. V: Really?.... (She raised her veil and unbuttoned her high fur collar.) I don't feel very well. I can't bear this weather, you know. A :I know. You hate the cold. V: And the worst of it is that the older one grows . . . A:( interrupted ) Excuse me, Please bring some coffee and cream. You are sure you won't eat any perhaps. The fruit here is very good. V: No, thanks. Nothing W:ok,please wait a moment! A: You were saying–the older one grows….. V: The colder. 第二幕 —— 六年前 Six years ago Aera and Allen first appointment at Kew Gardens?Area was so surprised because Allen did not know the names of any flowers. Allen still just as ignorant for all Aera telling him. But whenever it is very fine and warm, and Allen see some bright colours–it's awfully strange hear Aera voice saying: 'Geranium, marigold, and verbena……. A: I wish……..I wish that I had taken poison and were about to die–here now! V: "Ah, why do you say that? I could not say that? A: (he gave a kind of soft moan, and taking her hand he held it to his cheek) Because I know I am going to love you too much. And I shall suffer so terribly, Vera, because you never, never will love me." 第三幕 The planned journey Allen was certainly far better looking now than he had been then. He had lost all that dreamy vagueness and indecision. Now he had the air of a man who has found his place in life, and fills it with a confidence and an assurance which was, to say the least, impressive. He must have made money, too. His clothes were admirable, and at that moment he pulled a Russian cigarette case out of his pocket. A: Won't you smoke? V: Yes, I will.They look very good. A: I don't smoke very much,but when I do, they must be delicious, Smoking isn't a habit with me; it's a luxury –like perfume. Are you still so fond of perfumes? Ah, when I was in Russia . . . V: You've really been to Russia? A:Oh, yes. I was there for over a year. Have you forgotten how we used to talk of going there? V: No, I've not forgotten. A: I have spent the last three years of my life travelling all the time. Spain, Corsica, Siberia, Russia, Egypt. The only country left is China, and I mean to go there, too, when the war is over. V: How I envy you. A: Russia was all that we had imagined, and far, far more. I even spent some days on a river boat on the Volga. Do you remember that boatman's song that you used to play? V: Yes. A: Do you ever play it now? V: No, I've no piano. A: But what has become of your beautiful piano? V: Sold. Ages ago, I've no time for it now 第四幕 Separate Again (She had buttoned her collar again and drawn down her veil.) A: You're not going? V: Yes, I am afraid I must, A: Ah, no, please, have I said something to hurt you? V: "Not a bit! A:What I really wanted be a sort of carpet- for you to walk on so that you need not be hurt by the sharp stones and mud that you hate. I felt that you were more lonely than anybody else in the world., and perhaps, you were the only person in the world who was really, truly alive. Born out of your time. A: you had no friends ,Is it just the same now? Suddly two voices appear in Vera’s mind “oh he can understand me ,he knows my feeling.” “no,we just have the same fate.” “but,he is successful now,he can help me realize my dream.” “but I can’t sacrifice my love and my marriage to realize my dream.” “so,could it be said that I have to give up my happiness? ” “It’s too late to redeem my love,this is not really happiness,he is still selfish and he has ever changed,we will break up for the same person.” “YES NO ,YES NO, YES NO.” V: Yes, Just the same. I am as alone as ever. A:So am I ! A: But what seemed to me so mysterious then is perfectly plain to me now. It simply was that we were such egoists ,so self-engrossed, so wrapped up in ourselves that we hadn't a corner in our hearts for anybody else. Do you know…… ……Vera had gone A:waitress,I want to pay for my bill. W:Please wait a moment……sorry it’s 100 pounds. A: oh,it’s too expensive,But the cream has not been touched,Please do not charge me for it.. W:I’m sorry sir,but all dishes have served must be pay.! (pay for) Thank you! Some things we know is wrong,also want to insist,who is not willing to,some people we know is love,also want to abandon,because there is no end.Sometimes ,we know not,and also in the way,because the habit.
