Gender expectation No matter when we are, we are always under great expectations from others,such as our parents, our teachers and the whole society. And there are also gender expectations from males and females in China. In primary school,both boys and girls are expected to work hard. But it’s common that the top students mostly are girls. Little boys play together all the time and work carelessly. So boys are expected too learn from girls to work hard and to be as clever as girls. They often get punishment from their teachers for their naughty. Girls are good students,but they are noisy. Teachers often want them to be quite. Another problem is that girls like crying. It is the reason that girls are expected to be brave. After entering junior school, boys begin to show their intelligence,they are good at Maths and Physics. However, they are more and more naughty and active while girls begin to be fair maiden. Parents and teachers always have a headache for boys. Boys are expected to be gentle and hard-working. People think that boys are cleverer than girls, so it is commonly believed that bad-boy students result from carelessness while bad grade girls caused by stupid. As a whole, girls are wanted to be good at science projects and boys can spend more time studying. In high shool,Chinese students devoted to studying for entering a good university. And both boys an girls are wanted to work harder and harder. At this time,our grades is stable, teachers take more efforts to teach these called top students. Some boys like surfing on the Internet and playing games. They will play truant to play or fight. Their families or shools only wish them not to provoke dispute. Dress up themselves is the faourite activity of girls. The whole society hold the belief that the most important things for high shool students are to be admitted to a good university. So it is easy to be found that the biggest expectations for males and females are study. We have been asked to study hard for twelve years,when we go into the university, the expectatinns changed at last. Chinese is seeking for the equality between men and women. Meles and females have the same opportunities to show themselves on the stage of college. The whole society including males and females themselves hopes to develop comprehensive people to contribute to Chinese and the world. For single adults,they are eager to get married. Nowadays,more and more people choose to marry over thirty for their study or work. Their parents worry a lot about their marriage especially for men. The percentege of males and females has lost balance in China. Young men must prepare many things for their marriage such houses and cars. Married adults are the most stable group of people. They have already had a steady job and family. The only wish for them is to decrease the rate of divorce. People are always under high expectations, but actually,males are under larger stress than females. I want to see a real equality between men and women. Women can take more responsibilities than they thought and men can release themselves from time to time. And the worst important thing is that just do the real me without regarding too much of other’s opinion, and don’t expect too much from others.
