Tourism Resources Zhangjiajie is known for its unique tourist resources and as a treasure trove of natural resources. Surrounding the city are the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the Suoxi Gully Reserve, with the Maoyan River, Nine-Heaven Cave, Five-Thunder Mountain, and the Universal Light Temple further afield. More than 20 scenic spots have been explored, and more than 30 tourist routes have been formed. Zhangjiajie's recreational activities include modern activities and facilities such as Internet bars, tennis, bowling, basketball, soccer, sauna, salt baths and so on in the city proper and the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. 张家界市因独特的旅游资源而得名,它是一笔被发现的天然财富。在城市周围是张家界国家森林公园。索溪峪大峡谷保护区和茅岩河,九天洞,五指山,宇宙光寺环绕在远处。二十多个旅游景点已经被开发,行成了三十多条旅游路线。张家界的娱乐活动包括现代活动与配套设施,在市中心和武陵源景区有互联网,有酒吧,排球,保龄球,篮球,足球,桑拿浴,盐浴,等等。 Zhangjiajie Forest National Park Zhangjiajie Forest National Park is located in the south of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, covering an area of 130 square kilometers. The park was established to be the first forest national park in China in 1982. Together with the Suoxi Valley, Tianzi Mountain and Yangjiazhai Scenic Ranges, they compose of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which was listed in the World Heritage Directory by UNESCO and became a world-famous heritage in 1992. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is famous for its queer rocks. Over thousands peaks are in various forms. It is well-known for springs between stones, streams along valleys and waterfalls on precipices. 张家界国家森林公园坐落在武陵源景区的南部。有130平方千米。建于1982年,这是中国首个建立的国家级森林公园。和索溪峪大峡谷,天子山和组成了武陵源四大景区。1992年,被联合国教科文组织列为世界遗产名录,并成为世界著名遗产。张家界国家森林公园以奇特的岩石而闻名。山峰的形状各不相同。众所周知,在春天,悬崖上的瀑布掩映着峡谷的岩石,溪流显得格外美丽。 Tianzi Mountain The mountain's name came from the fact that Xiang Dakun, the man who led the local farmers' revolt called himself Tianzi---the Son of Heaven after the revolt. Surrounded by Suoxi Valley on the east, Zhangjiajie on the south, Sangzhi County on the north, Tianzi Mountain is one of the four scenic zones in Wulingyuan. It lies on the highest point of "Golden Triangle" with an area of 67 square kilometers. The landscape in Tianzi Mountain is natural and primeval. There is nothing artificial in the area. There is a saying that " people who have climbed Tianzi Mountain will not climb any other mountains" and "It can not be said that you have been to Wulingyuan without reaching Tianzi Mountain". 天子山的名称来自于一个叫向大坤的人,这个人领导了当地的农民起义,在起义后自称为“向王天子”——天的儿子。天子山坐落在东边,被索溪峪环绕。张家界在南边。桑植县在北边。天子山是武陵源景区四大景点之一。它坐落在“金三角”的最高点,有67平方千米。天子山的地形是原始天然的。没有一点人工雕饰。有一句谚语是这样说的“谁人识得天子面,归来不看天下山””,“不游天子山,枉到武陵源”。 Yellow Dragon Cave Located in the east of Suoxiyu Valley, Yellow Dragon Cave has long enjoyed the reputation of "underground magic palace". In the cave, we can see "cave beyond cave, tower beyond tower, sky beyond sky and mountain beyond mountain". Entering the cave, you will feel you are in a fairyland, beautiful and tranquil. 黄龙洞坐落在索溪峪峡谷的东面。长久以来黄龙洞享有“中华神奇洞府,世界溶洞奇观”之美誉。在洞里面,我们能够看到洞下洞、楼上楼的螺旋结构以及高阔的洞天、幽深的山谷。、进入到洞里面,你会感觉到你来到了一个神奇,美丽,安静的境界。 Suoxiyu Valley Suoxiyu Valley is the center of Wulingyuan scenic zone, strecthing an area of more than 180squarekilometers and is the largest of the three zones.The mountain here is mainly composed of sandstone peaks as that in Zhangjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. In the east of the valley, there is a collection of caves, namely, Yellow Dragon Cave, Goddess Cave, etc., which are made of limestone. Referred to wild lives, Suoxiyu Valley boasts more than 20 rare species, such as, pangolins, and giant salamanders. 索溪峪大峡谷坐落在武陵源景区的中央。绵延180平方千米,是三个景区中最大的。这儿的山和张家界市的山以及天子山一样,都是由砂岩形成。在峡谷的东面,有一个洞。黄龙洞又名,它是由石灰岩堆积而成。谈到野生动物,索溪峪大峡谷聚集着二十多种珍稀类动物。例如:穿山甲,娃娃鱼。
