Students can match the activities about Chinese New Year. The activities about Chinese New Year Vocabulary have New Year’s dinner, give kids lucky money, wear new clothes, go to bed early, gods return, reopen stories for business. Time Teaching Teaching Procedure Teaching aids Content 5’ Warm up 1.Puzzle Game: I. Divide students into six groups. II. Have each group finish a jigsaw puzzle of Chinese New Year’s Activities,[appendix 4] and put them on the board. 10’ Presentation 2.Introduce the new vocabulary: have New Big book Year’s dinner, give kids lucky money, wear 實物投影機 new clothes, go to bed early, gods return, reopen stories for business. 3.Have students practice the new vocabulary. 4.Introduce the activities of Chinese New Year by big book.[appendix 5] 10’ Practice 5.Mime Guessing: I. Choose one student to come to the front. II. This student act out one activity of Chinese New Year and have each group guess. 10’ Production 6. Make mini-books[appendix 6] Mini-book I. Provide copies of the mini-books to have each student put them in order. II. Have students follow along in their mini-books as the teacher reread the story. 5’ Wrap up 7. Detective Game:[appendix 7] I. The teacher changes part of the article content. II. Provide the changed article copies to students. III. Have students listen to the original sentences. IV. Have students find the mistakes and correct it.
