Challenges in College Education
Nowadays, flying development of culture, science and technology worldwide,as well as intensity competition in economic and technological fields have addressed tough challenges to college education.
One of these challenges comes from the macro economic and social changes. This is attributed to the fact that the imbalance of economic development in the East and the West leading to area inequality of university and higher education institutions.
A second challenge comes from the job market. On the one hand,China's economy is still dominated by cheap labor economy and does not need so many high educated talents. This causes many people who receive a good education can not gain a job.On the other hand, graduates are willing to live and work in the big cities rather than outside a big city .T his factor contributes to an increasing employment pressure. For instance,a quarter of 6800000 chinese graduates including undergraduate and graduate students failed to find work.
I would like to offer a third to explain the challenges in college education.I believe that China`s college education lacks of freedom. A fact that can not be ignored is that not only the teacher rating on the unification management, compulsory standards, the Ministry of education in college evaluation from top to bottom, but also the formulation of a unified standard, lead to the college and students struggling to cope with the adaptation of standard items.
In conclusion, there are too many challenges in college education in future. colleges must indentify the problems and evolve with a purpose. How to deal with these chellenges ,as far as I am concerned it needs face to face communication to find answers both teachers and students.
