Daniel Roth (Lakota East) – FAIR7 Austin Assad is the favorite here after a head-to-head victory over Rodriguez at Beast of the East. Both Rodriguez and Assad have separated themselves from the rest. ndndAssad finished 2 last year, losing to Bavery at 106, while Rodriguez was 2 in New 3 Jersey at 98. Bentley seems like the most worthy candidate to knock off Assad and Rodriguez, although he has lost to Rodriguez twice this year. Bentley lead Assad by a pretty good amount last year in the district final only to lose in OT. The Cleveland State district at 106 is deep to say the least. Seven guys are in the top 11, led by Assad and Bentley, while the other five all seem pretty even. DeCesare beat Heil at North Coast Classic, DeCesare is also 1-2 against Baughman, but DeCesare seems to be the better wrestler against the rest of the field. Heil, who is related to Dean th best in (brothers), was a Junior High runner-up losing to Donahue. Guillen comes in at 5this tough district with a head-to-head win over Lambert at Ironman. Guillen has been at 113 for the second part of the year, but a quality source has told me he will be at 106. I think 113 would be the way to go for Guillen or Lambert since they don’t have a notable guy above them on their team at that weight like most of the other guys in this district at 106. Henneman and O’dor would contend to qualify at any other location, but might not even win two matches at CSU, which again proves the depth here. A sleeper to watch here is Edwards, he could surprise a few. Jose Rodriguez looks to be a huge favorite to get through Mentor and will probably do it without any trouble, although there are some very worthy contenders. Donahue was Junior High State Champ last year even though he has taken some bumps across the way with losses to all quality kids. Clement, who has missed most of the season, came back last week for the dual tournament and then wrestled in the NOC tournament. He looks like a solid option to make it Columbus. The next tier seems to be between two guys and with them as the third and fourth best out of the district, it could be a rematch of Lowery and Hoberney in which Lowery won 8-6 at KIT. Jenkins was a Junior High state placer last year and has had a very good freshman campaign thus far. Jenkins, along with DeShon and Corrardi, round out the rest of the district. Luke Nace enters as the favorite at Darby with two head-to-head wins over Gutierrez. Nace has always seemed to struggle with his size at 103/106 after wrestling in ththe 70’s in 8 grade. Gutierrez comes in as sort of a wildcard. He came in a possible high ththplacer this year after finishing 7 in D2 his sophomore year and then 6 last year. He has yet to put it together this year, however, if he does, I would say he is very worthy of placing higher than his ranking. Furnas has three loses to Baughman, but all of the matches have pretty close; I was very impressed with him at Brecksville. Lakso and Laney look to round out the best five here. Gill (Hilliard Davidson) could be a sleeper. Fairfield seems to be the most wide-open district of all at 106. Heidkamp enters as a pretty heavy favorite here. Jagel and Kearney look to be the next best. Jagel beat Kearney at their conference tournament 4-3. The final spot here looks to be up for grabs. I think Vuyk is slightly better than Gatica, Roth and the Fargo AA Branson. Another kid to watch here is Williams (Elder). 4 113 Projected Champ: Aaron Assad (Brecksville) Senior – CSU1 2. Brandon VanHorn (John Marshall) – CSU10 Aaron Assad is the slight favorite here. He has three head-to-head victories over Torres, with all three matches having been decided by a point each. I lean heavy towards rdndrdthe top two here. Assad is a 3x placer (3, 2, 3) and is still looking for a title. Torres has had some post-season trouble the last two years, tearing his ACL as a freshman and last year he being unable to compete because he didn’t pass skin check. Assad and Torres both exit CSU, which then leaves two spots open. Although two spots may not seem intriguing, I still would suggest a 106 at CSU to move up. Davis and Corrao seem like the next best here. Corrao has missed some time lately, so his health could be a question through the post-season and/or how good of shape he is in after missing some time. Thomas seems to stand out slightly over the rest of the remaining guys here. Coghill will surprise a few. He is most likely a year and a weight away from 5 making it to Columbus, as next year he will be very good at 106. The rest of the field looks to all be about even, which should make for an exciting weight. Another notable here is Gandolf (Medina). Mancini looks to be the favorite at Mentor, but I would say it’s wide open. Spencer and Ferritto seem to also be slightly above the field and should challenge to win it here. Fasnaught seems to be a wildcard. I’m not really sure of his status, as he has missed some time; he has also struggled somewhat this year, but has the ability to be a Top 8 kid. Bostic, Kramer and Herron seem like the next best three here and if Fausnaught isn’t here, then I lean towards those three to get that final spot. The district does have some quality depth. A possible sleeper here could be Langston (Solon). Dakota Riley comes in as the favorite at Darby and may end up being the only placer out of this district. DiSabato looks to be second best. Dooley comes in at third best and is the final kid in the Top 30. McGrath (Hilliard Bradley) and Hines (Olentangy Orange) seem to be the next best two in this shallow weight. At Fairfield, Ziegler looks to be the favorite. Milano and Tucker look to be next best and above the other challengers. Barklay is my pick for the fourth spot, but that can go to anyone mentioned above. Logsdon was a SQ in D3 last year, but has struggled this year. If he wrestles his best, he can make it out. Kasey Ackley (Thomas Worthington) Senior – HD7 Brandon Thompson comes in as the favorite to win another state title. He already has two and is looking to get his third, similar to how his half-brother Kevin Hardy did when he was at Solon. Thompson will be challenged however; Timchenko and Bavery seem like the biggest challengers. They both were teammates at Massillon Perry. Bavery won the D1 106 state title last year, while Timchenko was unable to compete due to transferring from Massillon Perry back to the school he transferred from the year before, Olentangy Orange. Screptock and Darmstadt seem to be the favorites to get the top two spots at CSU. Gray looks to be third and with his state experience he can be dangerous. Dickson and Hiles are fourth and fifth best here and are the two I lean to, to get that final state berth. Again, CSU has depth here. Michael Irvine, if he returns, could be a surprise at this weight, but I am unaware of his status at this time. Thompson and Bavery both exit Mentor, which means they will most likely be on stndstrd/2 or 1/3/ etc.). Bartinelli is well opposite sides in Columbus (as long as they finish 1 above the rest of the field here and looks to get that third spot. Cotton, Burns and Schaub look to be in contention for the final spot, but DeSanto could sneak in. Another one to watch here is whoever Madison has at 120, whether it may be Stienger or Montgomery. Darby, which doesn’t seem to be the toughest district, is however the toughest when it comes to 120, having four in the top eight. Timchenko looks to be the early favorite, but Wimer, Rahmani and Penzone will all challenge. Wimer is a kid who I think has the option of going 113. It wouldn’t be a bad idea as I like his chances at 113 better. Valenti and Kakos are the next best here. Fairfield looks to be the most wide open among the other districts at this weight. Watson, Daly and Barden all seem to be above the field here. Ward looks to be fourth best here; he seems to be getting better every week. Max Meddings (Fairfield) Junior – FAIR9 Ivan McClay looks to be the heavy favorite at a very shallow weight. A key mover to this weight is Bobby Smith, as he was at 138/145 for most of the year. Another important note is that DuPratt (Olmstead Falls) will not be competing. Driscoll looks to be the early favorite at CSU, while Henneman and DeRuchie look to be above the rest. After those three, it is pretty much wide open. Whoever Elyria has in their lineup here will compete to get the fourth spot, along with Salti, DeMicco, and Edwards. A few others to watch here are Taylor (Brunswick) and DeMio (Strongsville). Greg Marietta would also exit this district; I haven’t seen any results on him this year so his status is uncertain at this time. 8 McClay is the favorite at Mentor, as expected, but his best challenger also exits Mentor, which could mean a great draw for Ziegler in Columbus. Phillips and Benedetti look to snag the next two spots as they are slightly above the rest of the field. Rooney and Smith come in as the favorites at Darby. Sparks looks to be a solid pick for the third spot; this weight could end up three placers in Columbus. Fluty and Ferguson will contend for that final spot. A couple others to watch: Bankes (Watkins Memorial) and King (Teays Valley). Parrett looks to be the heavy favorite at this weight at Fairfield. Allen, Borton, Selmon and Donigan look to be well above the field and I think three of those four will take the final spots. 132 Projected Champ: Dean Heil (St. Edward) Senior – CSU1 2. Heil will look to become a four-time state champ and put himself with the other greats in Ohio history. Brecksville made a notable change in this weight. Davis and Lucas switched weights, which will only help Lucas’ cause as 132 looks slightly weaker than 138. Heil exits CSU along with Egnor. Egnor might not challenge Heil, but being in the same district could mean an opposite-side draw in Columbus. I would say Lucas and Nelson are slightly above the rest, but Heidelman could be the guy to pull an upset. Phillbert looks to be the sixth-best at this weight. Shump exits Mentor as the favorite of a very deep weight, seven in the top 17. I lean towards the top-seven to get the four berths to Columbus. This weight does have a lot of depth and should make for a tough district tournament at 132. McDougle looks to be the favorite at Darby with a head-to-head win over Wilson. I look for Donatelli and Messerrall to get the other two spots. Hinkle and Durieux round out the top-six here. Denlinger is the favorite at Fairfield and looks like the one who will meet Heil in the finals (draw permitting). Newell looks to be second best, along with Mendel. Newell has improved greatly and is down two weights since Fargo. The last spot looks wide open and I lean more towards Scanlon, Heyob or Smith to get it over the other ranked guys exiting Fairfield. 138 Projected Champ: Noah Forrider (Marysville) Senior – HD1 2. Yurick (Olmsted Falls) Senior – CSU8 Forrider comes in as the favorite of one of the most wide open weight classes in Division 1. Forrider has not wrestled Heffernan, but did wrestle Bright in the dual and beat him. I think Heffernan, Montgomery (if healthy) and Alexander all can challenge Forrider. A side note here: I project Bast here and not Sparkman. If Sparkman is here, th. however, I would put him 5 Heffernan exits CSU as the favorite. I lean heavy on the next three to get the other three spots, but depending on how the bracket plays out, Davis, Perez, Kelly and Yurick all could contend for the fourth and final spot Bast looks to be the favorite. A big question here is Montgomery and how good he will be after missing most of the season. Steed looks to be above the rest of the field here, but yet again, the fourth spot looks open. Masch seems to be the best candidate for the fourth spot. Workman is the only other in the top 30. I think a 132 should move up, but if not maybe M. Robertson (Maple Heights) could sneak out. Darby looks to be a very tough district at this weight, which is very rare compared to the others. Forrider leads this class as the favorite. He is followed by one of the most underrated kids, Alexander. Alexander will surprise a few. McDougle looks like a solid pick for the third spot. Miller and Bennedetto look to battle for the fourth spot. Driscoll is a name to watch here. Fairfield looks to hold a lot of depth at one of the deeper weight classes across the state. Calvert and Branham are the two I like most here, both having beat each other this year. Sams, Morgan and Leonhardt will also be in the mix. Four of those five will probably be making it out. If Bast stays at this weight, then I would put him 3. Bright exits CSU where he will see two guys in the top 10. Roth, Grine, Dominique and Strnad will contend for the final three spots. Strnad dropped to 145 for the Regional Final dual meet against Wadsworth. Williams looks to be the next best option. Bast exits Mentor and what looks to be the toughest district at this weight. I would say Bast is the only “safe” one here. The other three spots could go to anyone listed above. 12 Jake Ryan exits Darby as the clear favorite. Staten will look to qualify for the second straight year in his young career. I lean towards Black, Wahl, Deluse and Pollitt to battle for the other three spots. Kowal exits Fairfield as the favorite of a pretty thin weight class. I think this weight is generally wide open after Kowal. I would suggest a 138 to move up here or for a 152 to drop. I show him as fourth best, but with many challengers in the top 30. Collica exits Mentor, which means only three spots are up for grabs. Dailey looks like he is above the rest of the field and a solid second here. For the next two spots, I lean to four guys: Sweeney, Johnson, McNally and Celinski. Lancia exits Darby as the clear favorit. Yarger and Deluse look to be the next best there. I look for Chappelear to take the final spot, but guys like Trocchio and Pearson could challenge. Davis, Lauffer and Wilson look to lead the field at Fairfield. All seem about the same in skill level. Kersey is my pick for the fourth spot after qualifying last year, but he has struggled. The same can be said about Buchanan, who also was a state qualifier last year. Workman and Washington are others who would look to contend for Columbus. Robertson leads a pretty deep weight class at Mentor. I think the next three spots are wide open, but I do think the guys in the top 20 are on a slightly different level than the rest. Boyd exits what seems to be a shallow weight compared to the other districts. Darby only has six in the top 30, although four guys make it out. I don’t really see anyone besides Boyd contending to place. Sizemore exits the most brutal district climate overall, with four guys in the top six and five in the top nine. If all of them do move up, then I think Barr can sneak out for St. Ed’s and only add to their already high point total. Mentor looks like an extremely weak weight here. Zeck, who recently moved down from 182, looks to have made a great decision. I think any of the seven above can make it out. Walker exits Darby as the clear favorite. Beard and Martin exit BG, where they are the favorites, Beard beat Martin earlier in the year at 113 I believe. After those two I see a five-for-two type of thing, Cheek, Portillo, Merrell, Petras and Lucas all would probably qualify at any other district. This is a very deep weight here. I would consider thinking about moving up to 113 where the field isn’t as deep. Warner is the favorite at Heath after beating Wilson in their most recent dual, something close to the score of 10-1. Jay looks to be a solid third option here after qualifying last year. I look for Hrusch to qualify, but Woods could be a candidate to snag the last spot. Stickley leads the field at Goshen, but does have other notable guys in his weight. May, who has missed most of the year, returns to 106 where he was a state placer. He has beaten Seipel this year already. Seipel, along with Warner, should challenge Kelly here. Bennett exits Alliance as the favorite at a weight with some depth. Dees just beat Zemaitis in a dual. I think Dees, Zemaitis and Taton are all on the same skill level. Those four have distanced themselves from the field, but one other notable guy remains in Frost. Frost has missed most, if not all, of the season due to injury. I hear he will give it a go for the post-season, whether it be here or at 120. I think 120 looks slightly weaker. Michel and Pool exit BG as the favorites and I think they’re above the rest of the field. They are followed by Brewer, who is a very solid three here. I look for Minnifield or Bussard to snag that final spot. Another kid to watch is Avalon (Clyde). Warner is the favorite at Heath. I would say he and Henderson are above the field. After those two, however, it’s pretty much wide open. I look for anyone of the kids listed above to get the last two spots at this semi-wide open weight. Kelly exits what seems to be the toughest district at this weight. Seipel also is here with Duffy. I think those three have solidified themselves above the rest. Tutolo seems like the only legitimate challenger here, but Tomasello beat him last year for the title. Tomasello leads the field at Alliance, which then leaves three spots remaining. Tutolo looks to be above the rest of the field here. I look for Nemec and Carter to get the last two spots. Howard leads the group at BG, a pretty deep group to say the least, having seven in the top 19. I do see a five-for-four type thing with the top five in here. A few others to watch are Todd (Clear Fork) and Bergman (Oak Harbor). Bergman has missed most of the season due to injury so his status is uncertain. Miller exits Heath as the favorite, but I wouldn’t say by much. Smith will definitely contend for the district. I think Patterson and Clark are clearly three and four. Another kid to watch besides the ones mentioned above is Young (Philo). Brent Moore leads the group at Goshen. This weight does seem sort of deep. I look at Trigg and Plummer to qualify, but that leaves one spot open. Hodges leads the group at BG after beating Hagan head-to-head. Hagan is second best, followed by Middleton and Plaugher in the top four. 27 This looks to be a weaker weight at Heath, besides Burcher and Craig. The other spots seem wide open, with only five guys ranked here. Another kid to watch is Clark (Marion-Franklin). Goshen looks like a pretty solid district at this weight with five in the top 15. Ott leads the group, followed by whomever Graham has in their lineup – whether it be Kastl or Ohnmeiss, as I hear Crabtree is done for the season. I do lean heavily on the top seven here to contend for the four spots, but Nagy is a kid to watch. A non-ranked kid who can make some noise is Swaney (Hoban). Plaugher looks to be the favorite at a shallow BG weight. I then see a four-for-three situation, but Roberts is a returning SQ so he is definitely a factor. Kowalski leads the group at Heath if he is here, as he could be up at 138. Delgadillo is my number two and personally I think he is underrated and a sleeper. He is very fun to watch. Parada and Dillon look like solid picks for three and four, but this weight does have some depth so it could get interesting. Jordan obviously leads the field at Goshen, but the weight is pretty shallow after him and Bowshier. I look for any of the remaining guys to grab the other two spots. I think Lehman is a solid fourth here, but Kollman and Stitt will contend. 33 BG looks loaded at this weight with four in the top eight and nine in the top 14. Schuette is my pick here slightly over Wilson. Wilson’s loss to Running is sort of a red flag to me (Running won by tech fall at 170). The next two spots I see as sort of wide open. Honestly, all four spots are wide open here. Heath isn’t exceptionally strong at this weight class. I do think the first four mentioned here are on a different level, but the bracket could prove to be a factor in this. Bo Jordan exits the same district as Spohn, Goshen. I see the next two spots wide open amongst the guys listed above. Although he is the favorite here, I think anyone of the top six guys in this district can win it and everyone mentioned can get out. Others to watch are Tripodi (Jefferson Area) and Mason (Louisville). Cramer and Moore headline BG. Those two are by far the favorites here. They are followed by freshman Dylan Heffner. I think a lot of people have overlooked this super frosh, as he will surprise a few. I think Caris, Heffner and Hengstler will battle it out for the last two spots. Harmon leads the field at BG by a pretty good margin in my opinion. Henderson looks to be above the field and I think he should be a finalist here as long as he’s on opposite sides of Harmon. Two others to watch here are Bracci (Milton Union) and Moyer (Bellevue). 39 Heath looks to be a very competitive district at this weight with eight in the top 17. I do lean heavily on the top three to all qualify in some order as 285 is the hardest to predict. The last spot looks wide open. Goshen seems to have three guys above the rest in Peacock, Forsee and Bottroff. The fourth spot seems wide open, but Lewis the only guy ranked so I will give him the nod. This group looks pretty solid, having seven in the top 17. I do lean heavily on the top four, but last year there were a few upsets here at this weight. I do have Young ranked here, but he has missed some time. If he is not here, then I project Austin Slarb to be the starter for Northwestern. He would be as high as Young, but still a top 10 guy in the district. Alex Smith headlines the group at BG, along with Speiss and Ulinski. I think the state champ will come out of this district. I also would think whoever ends up winning the district will win the state title, but obviously that isn’t how it works and a lot can change within that week. I think Dunbar or Dyer gets the final spot. Adkins seems to be the heavy favorite at Philo and seems to be the only placer on paper as of now. I believe he has thth–12 area at 120. I see Pucci, the option to 113, if not then I would put him in the 10 White or Heldenbrand getting the final spot or two (depending on Bowen). Another notable name here is Meehan (Brooklyn). Sarresteh leads the group at BG and also leads his team, as he is the only kid on his team. I like the top four here to qualify. I think they have solidified themselves from the rest of the group. Mansor (Huron) is a wildcard at 106 or 113, whichever he is at. Ohl exits Philo as the favorite in a very shallow weight. Once again, this district only has four in the top 30. I do lean heavily on the top three here to qualify and as of now Coe looks like the fourth best. They have not wrestled this year, but a side note: Gross has lost to Darmstadt (Elyria) twice this year and Hancock majored him at Brecksville. I’m not saying that is a good judging tool at all, but just something to think about. Also, Minnard has beaten Darmstadt. Could just be a matchup thing for Gross against Darmstadt. I think Seagraves is sleeper at this weight; he lost to Hancock in OT just a few weeks ago. Gross leads the group at Garfield, a district that is pretty deep in fact. I do see the next four guys slightly above the rest here and I expect three of those four to get out. Stiner, who has struggled a little since missing the first part of the year, could be a sleeper here. Frye (Cuyahoga Hts.) recently dropped to 120, but a good source told me he will be 45 at 126. Any of these lower 120’s should think about moving up as I think the 126 climate is weaker. Although Keller is the favorite at BG, he did just lose to Short. Short has quite a few losses on the year, but most to quality kids. He was Junior High stud and I thought he would of made a bigger impact last year, but due to Coffey being at 106 he was forced to go 113, where I thought he was undersized. Alvarado looks like a clear option to qualify again with the rest of the district on a different tier after him. I look for Tupps to get the fourth spot, but the rest of the district looks about even. A few others to watch here are Williams (St. Wendelin), Pennington (Elmwood) and T. Bowman (Arcadia) Minnard looks to be the favorite at Philo after beating Darmstadt in the finals at Bill Dies. Shannon looks like he’s second best here and has a notable win over Kole Trigg. I slightly like Reed and Devito over the rest of the field. Another name to watch is Wrigley (Madison Plains). Hancock is the favorite at Kettering followed by Seagraves. Like I said above, they have wrestled this year and Hancock won in overtime. Lacure seems like a solid pick for third, well to qualify in general. Francis did beat Frye, but Francis hasn’t had much success 3 against the rest of the field. He is still a name to watch here. Griffith looks to be a huge favorite to win BG. The rest of the district is all pretty close with many of those kids wrestling/beating each this year. Ziegler leads the field at Philo with Outward as a solid number two. There isn’t much depth after that, but the three other guys I have ranked here should be the contenders for the other two spots. I do, however, think a 120 should move here. I think all of the 120’s I have ranked from Philo would have a greater chance of getting out here. Fairmont looks loaded to say the least. I show seven guys in the top 12. Although Anderson beat Hoskins head-to-head in the finals at Lima CC, I do think Hoskins would win a rematch and tend to like Hoskins more against the field. The fourth spot looks to be between Johns and Stiner. Stiner did win head-to-head, but Johns has the better resume so that’s why he is ranked higher. VanVleet is obviously the favorite at BG, but 132 looks very deep here. Laney and Price are two guys that if they are at 100% should qualify, but both have missed time due to injury. Besides VanVleet I would say other three spots look wide open. Wesley (Paulding) is another name to watch here. Feucht and Mays looks slightly above Mickley, but Mickley did wrestle Nelson very close earlier in the year. Dilley looks to be fourth best here. The top four in this weight all have state experience. Rathburn, who made it TO Columbus last year, struggled earlier on in the year, but did have a solid CIT tournament. Mulligan looks like a solid kid here. 126 is a great choice for anyone with that option. Another name to watch is Sowers (Union Local). I am not sure if he is out or will be back. I look for Gregan, Marthey and Montague to round out the top five. Davidson and Walden are others that could surprise. 49 Niner looks like the favorite at BG, but it won’t be easy. BG looks loaded here with five guys in the top nine. Niner is followed by Day, who was a Fargo AA. I see the final two spots coming down to Gross, Santa-Rita, or Guerra. Hansel leads the group at Philo, followed by Callarik and Scott. I think Rayner is the solid fourth pick here. Mullet, Lepley and Coleman will all contend for a trip to Columbus. Reese leads the group here at Fairmont; a group of four that I think has set themselves apart from the rest of the district. This district does have a lot of depth and that tends to lead to upsets. Just a thought. Kollin Moore enters as the favorite at Garfield with Staggs as a close second. Szitas is third best here and I think these three are all above the rest of the district. The fourth and final spot looks wide open. I think King or Torgerson will get it. King was unable to finish his district tournament last year after getting injured. Barnett leads a group of four at BG that I think are above the rest of the field there. I think Barnett and Kenner are the best two here and very close in skill level. I like Fejes and Ramage to grab the other two spots. Taylor looks like a solid pick at number five. Quinn looks to be a clear favorite at Heath to say the least. I do like his style – he always seems to be throwing the kitchen sink at whomever he is wrestling. After him I like Horn. Horn, who did have a few big wins last year, fell short of qualification last year as one of my sleepers. Visconti looks to be third best here; I think he and Horn will battle for the second and third spots. Potts, Sefert, Hansel and Datz look to be all real contenders here to get out. Marshall and Wilson lead the field at Fairmont by what looks like a wide margin. I think Siemon is a solid pick for the third spot, but the fourth spot looks like wide open. I personally like Boldman, as he is one of my sleepers in D3, but I think anyone mentioned above can make it. I like Blair to grab the fourth spot. He does have some losses this year that have left me scratching my head, but he also is a state placer. This weight is loaded with four state placers. However, after those four the weight falls off, I guess you could say. Topp and Schill will probably make up the top six in this weight. Mattin looks to be the favorite if he in fact stays at 160 like a solid source has told me. He would also be the favorite if he is at 152 too, but I like his chances of winning a state title here better. I think the next three ranked guys are all above the rest of the field. Kinemond is the favorite at Heath. This weight is not very deep at all. I like Nolte to be the second qualifier, along with Ratcliff. I think the fourth and final spot is wide open amongst Mickey, Herrmann and Van Meter. Another name to watch here is Spencer (Tuscarawas Valley). Sandlin and Erwin lead the group at Fairmont, which is brutal to say the least. I show seven guys in the top 16. I do, however, favor Semple, McAdoo and Deeter over the rest, but that still is a three-for-two situation. Stanley and Mays will be challengers. Stanley was a runner-up at 152 and Mays won a state title at this weight last year. I know Linton lost to Mays but that locking hands call was the deciding factor and I doubt that happens again. I think Linton has hit another level this year and I just can’t pick against him. Zach Sullivan could be a sleeper here. A side note also: Aaron Yonker, who was going to compete at 160 or 170, will not be competing according to a very close source. This source also told me some other big news at 182. Linton exits Garfield with Stanley. After those two there is a fall-off in the district, but that tends to happen when you have two of the top three kids in the state at one weight. That talent usually isn’t matched and some kids decide to go other weights, which is understandable. I look for Meek, Sanshuck, Studer and Carey to fill the other two spots. 54 Ankney-Oswalt looks like the favorite at BG and it seems he is vastly improved since last year. Speith is a solid number two here and can be a placer if he wrestles his best. He has had some close matches with lower-tier competition, but wins are wins in my book. I see the next two spots going to two of the following four kids: Dye, Reynolds, Price or Patchin. All are very solid kids. BG could have four placers in Columbus. Mays leads a pretty solid group out of Philo, although he might be on a different level than the rest. Yes, I know most people thought Stock was done for his year/career, but I was 55 told he will be wrestling. Robinson will also be a contender to try and knock off Toal. Robinson’s athleticism and strength make him a contender and fun to watch. Stock, who has yet to compete this year, looks like the favorite at Garfield. I am guessing conditioning will be a big factor for him, which is why I put him fourth, but he obviously has the ability to finish higher than that. With Stock coming back I see a four-for-three situation now. I see Ellis, Brenes, Schaefer and Worthington fighting for the final three spots. Brenes, who was a SQ at 220 last year, has been down as low as 182, but he has bounced around to 195 and 220 as well. Maund (Black River) is also a name to watch. This looks much weaker at BG than 170. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 170 move here. Pritchard looks to be the favorite as of now, but I think anyone I have ranked in the top six in the district can win it. Bergeon (Ayersville) is another name to watch. Groff leads the field at Philo, a field that looks pretty defined by the first four. Smith looks to be second best, followed by some surprising 182’s in Leasure and Harris. Leasure was at 152 last year, while Harris has spent most of this season at 195. Toal leads the group at Fairmont, followed by Robinson. I do however think the th. I think the final two spots are wide open. If Jaramillo isn’t healthy, hen it could be three spots wide open. I personally think Bergeon (Ayersville) should move back to 195. Beck leads the pack at Philo, along with Loguhman and Barrett. Those three have separated themselves from the rest. The fourth and final spot is wide open. Olson leads a solid group out of Fairmont, with four in the top 10 and nine in the top 20. I tend to lean heavily on the top five guys here to qualify. I think anyone in the top most notable challenger, Boyd, he beat last year for 3 four can win it on any given day. Moore leads the pack at Garfield, a pretty strong pack might I add. I lean on the four guys in the top to qualify, but guys like Shank and Jamieson could sneak out. Ash is the favorite at BG. I think he is on a different tier at that district. Durbin looks to be the guy for the second spot. I like Nino to grab the third spot, but the fourth spot looks wide open. Another guy to watch here is Baker (Upper Sandusky). Ginn leads the pack at Philo, but is followed by my sleeper, Gump. The final two spots I think will go to OVAC members in Dotson, Furbee or Coole. Boyd and Post headline the Fairmont district at this weight. I see them as the two best and on their own tier. I like Wessell to take the third spot, but the fourth spot looks wide open. However, that seems to change in Columbus. I like Srock as the best contender. Srock leads the group at Garfield. He is then followed by Cary and Hanzel. The fourth and final spot looks wide open. I think Deely is the guy after beating Arnold in a dual last week. Bustance (Keystone) and Long (Lutheran West) are others to watch. Ramos leads a wide open weight at BG, but not by much in my opinion. I look for Ramos, Pfiester, Veller and Sexton to all qualify, but I’m not really sure of the order. Brandon Bennett, who I have heard is not competing, would have been a factor here. If for some reason he is back, I kept him ranked. Garren leads the pack at Philo, a pack that makes up the toughest district at this weight. I look for any of the first guys ranked in this district to contend for a spot in Columbus. Bray is the favorite at Fairmont. Three guys that I think are slightly above the rest of the field follow him. These look like four guys that should qualify.
