And, you can use other tools to help you with, like computer software that you can read after. Discussion is a good way to train your oral English, too. More students can increase their ability during the activity Unit 2 A family story My uncle used to be a senior engineer. He was educated in Russia long time ago. He did very good jobs. He would work in a factory, which was close to his hometown in Hunan and he found one there. He worked there for more than 20 years. Everybody liked him. But, unfortunately, the factory went out of business recently. So, my uncle is out of employment now and he is not young anymore. Although he is very serious about everything at work and pays attention to the details, he cannot find a job because of his age. Now, he just stays at home taking after his grandchildren. He still has influence upon those kids. He teaches them lots of things he learnt in Russia. It looks like that he is fine although he complains that he cannot work as an engineer any more. My ideal parents I would like to have ideal parents. I think they should understand me and don't bother my life. Second they should give me enough freedom to let me grow naturally and happily. Third they should be my best friends and would like to listen to me anytime. Fourth they had better share their happiness and sorrow with me . Finally they should keep up with the pace of society and care about the recent fashin and current things. In that case we can have a lot in common and would like to talk anything as we like. My mother I have a great mother. She cares much about me in my life and study. In the morning, she gets up early to make breakfast for me. When I was little, she prepared my schoolbag. But now, she tells me to do it by myself. Because she thinks I have been old enough to do it. Besides, she always checks my homework. When I finish my homework, she checks it and points out the mistakes. She is very careful and helps me a lot. I love my mother. Unit 3 Describe a person who has made a difference in your life The Person Who Has Made a Difference in My Life: My Mother My mother is the most influential person in my life. She has taught me various things in life and her endless support has made a difference in my life. One thing I have learned from her is how to have a successful business. Growing up and seeing my mom owning and running a successful jewelry store has helped put direction in my life. She was the one who taught me how to run a successful business and taught me several key points to having a business. One of her keys to having a successful business was to always provide excellent customer service and to satisfy each and every customer you have. Satisfied customers are the cheapest and best advertisement a business can have and unhappy customers make you lose business. Another thing she taught me was to always have a clean and spotless store because presentation helps increase your sales and ultimately your income. When I was given the opportunity to come to the United States her support made my decision to come much easier. She surprised me one day when she took me to the work and travel agency, which allowed me the opportunity to come to the United States. Three weeks later I received my Visa, and then it was only a matter of time until I would be on a flight to the United States. Getting on a plane to fly over the ocean to a new country would not have been very easy to do without my mothers support. As I look back at the things I have done in life, it would not have been possible without having someone special like my mother in my life. She has given me endless support and love.
