Therban®
Hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR)
Properties
Provided that the compounds are correctly formulated and processed,
the vulcanizates have outstanding mechanical properties, very good re-
sistance to abrasion, very good compression set behavior, excellent re-
sistance to weathering, ozone and hot air and very good resistance to
technical oils, even in the presence of hydrogen sulfide and amines.
Applications
Heavily stressed rubber goods used in oil exploration and production, e.g.
seal components, hose, stators, and rubber goods for drill pipes. Also suit-
able for high quality gaskets, membranes, V-belts and timing belts for mo-
tor vehicles, cable sheathing, hydraulic hose and special couplings.
Food contact
Information concerning compliance with FDA and BfR regulations can
be obtained on request from the Health, Safety, Environment and Qual-
ity Department (HSEQ) of LANXESS Deutschland GmbH.
