As many as 180 steel balls work in perfect harmony in special steel profiles – day after day, year after year. This exceptionally long-lasting functionality is based on the Quadro runner's perfected tracking con- trol. Forces acting on the runner are absorbed on all sides, giving Quadro maximum vertical and horizontal stability. Quadro's running action is noticeably smooth and supple even under extreme loads – the precision ball mechanism makes sure it stays that way for years on end. With this innovative opening mechanism from Hettich, planning and producing handleless fronts for modern furniture couldn't be easier. Push to open conveniently opens any drawer and pull- Opening convenience without handles – Quadro with Push to open out at the mere press of a finger. Not only that – it also opens up new horizons in designing furniture frontages! 7 Plug-on installation The drawer is inserted at an angle from above on the extended runners. Two holes at the back of the drawer engage the hooks at the far end of the runners. The drawer is connected to the runners by plug- ging the locating pins into place. Ensuring ease of installation, the tapered pins provide a preci- sion, firm fit. To remove the drawer, it is pulled out all the way, lifted slightly and then removed from the runners. The drawer is fixed in position by the locating pins at the front. The exact drawer height is set by turning the thumbwheel. Slide-on installation The drawer is placed horizontally on the runners and pushed into place. The catch automatically locks the drawer onto the Quadro for a secure fit. Unlatching the drawer and removing it from the runners is just as easy. This also leaves the height setting unchanged. The height adjustment facility integrated in the catch produces perfected front panel alignment – without the need for tools of course. The coloured thumbwheel moves the wedge into position between drawer bottom panel and runner. Hettich environmental management Hettich started introducing effective environmental manage- ment systems under the stringent EMAS Regulation (currently: EC Regulation No. 761/2001, including EN ISO 14.001/2004) as long ago as 1996. This not only enables us to improve our envi- ronmental performance on a broad front but also achieve a high level of safety which, not least, also benefits our customers. This is why we also require our suppliers to meet the necessary mini- mum standards of environmental protection, industrial safety, health care and social welfare. The varying quality standards demanded by different markets and segments are each taken into account. The diagrams below show examples of some of the testing processes and what they involve. Wear test The fully laden drawer must remain in proper working order after opening and closing it for a defined number of times at a defined test velocity Retention-on-opening test The drawer is abruptly opened all the way several times at a defined test velocity. Quality criteria · Wear test over 80,000 opening and closing cycles · Retention-on-opening test at up to 1.3 m/s · Horizontal strain test with up to 15 kg · Vertical strain test with up to 30 kg · Max. opening and closing forces ≤ 50 N · After testing, the drawer must still be in proper working order Horizontal strain test Opened all the way, the drawer is exposed to horizontal strain from a defined lateral force.
