Pingyao Ancient City is one of the most outstanding ancient cities in China. A：它是什么时候开始建造的呀，它看起来很久，仿佛有几百年的历史吧 A：When was it built? It looks old and has survived for hundreds of years B：它的建筑史要追溯到西周时期了，后来在明朝的时候，由于防御原因被扩大 B：The historical of its construction dates back to the Western Zhou Dynasty and later enlarged for the defense reason in the Ming Dynasty A：它的城墙像个小长城，我觉得它不是那么轻易就能夺得的 A：The City Wall looks like a small Great Wall, I think it’s not that easy to capture it B：是的，这个城墙长六千米，高12米，顶部有3到6米宽 B：Yes, the City Wall is 6 km. And it’s about 12 meters high and 3 to 6 meters wide on top. And there are 72 watchtowers and 3000 external battlements on the top of wall A：棒极了！这么多的瞭望塔和城垛，一个部队都可以在这上面作战了 A：Terrific! It is said that the 72 watchtowers represent 72 people of great wisdom; the 3000 battlements represent the 3000 students of Confucius.
