The woman had brought two daughters into the house with her, who were beautiful and fair of face, but vile and black of heart. Now began a bad time for the poor step-child. They took her pretty clothes away from her, put an old gray pyjamas on her, and gave her wooden shoes. She had to do hard work from morning till night, get up before daybreak, carry water, light fires, cook and wash. (cinderella 在擦地板，继母摇着扇子指挥她，边夸奖自己的女儿，继姐们在梳 妆台前打扮) Jane: Mum, I need a new dress. It went into a stocking that a little girl had hung by the fireplace to dry! So on Christmas Eve, children all hang stockings by the fireplaces. It has a customer in this country.
