【具体研究内容】:
2008年服务于Internet的路由器、服务器、交换机、冷却设施、数据中心等设备总消耗8680亿度电,占全球总耗电量的5.3%。预计到2025年,IT行业能耗会达到2006年的5倍,网络领域能耗更会提高13倍,即网络领域占IT业的总能耗将从2006年的17%增长到2025年的43%~如何在保证服务质量的同时有效降低网络的能耗,已经成为当前互联网络领域一个重要的研究课题。本项目计划从三个方面研究网络节能的新机制:
1)面向节能的网络
流量
。通过流量汇聚,使网络流量集中到一部分链路上,腾空另外一部分链路使其处于休眠状态,并自适应网络流量的实时抖动;
2)研究路由器/交换机节能的新结构和算法。 通过让接口卡共享线卡母板以及动态调配流量的方法,动态开启/关闭路由器线卡母板,达到既省资源又省电; 3)研究EEE(Energy Efficient Ethernet)的新机制,包括在MAC层通过Cache机制和建立有效的低能耗多播跨距树的方法来节省网络能耗的新途径。
博士后研究着将在理论研究、应用建模合实际工程实现方面开展研究,主要面向Sigcom、Infocom、Sigmetric、ICNP等高水平国际会议和IEEE Transaction等国际期刊。

研究组在高速网络技术、网络处理器、网络安全和业务感知和Internet网络低功耗控制技术等方面开展了深入的研究,承担多项国家973、863、自然科学基金、国家杰出青年基金项目,并与国外多所知名大学有广泛的合作关系。研究组在Sigcom、Infocom、ICNP、ICDCS、ANCS、IPDPS、IWQoS等国际一流会议和ACM/IEEE Trans on Networking,IEEE Trans on Computers, IEEE Trans on Multimedia,IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications等 Top Journal上发
