Cambridge shoe-thrower faces charges CAMBRIDGE, England, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A protester who threw his shoe at Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in England will be charged with creating a public disturbance, officials said. School officials and a student newspaper reporter said the unnamed shoe-thrower denounced Wen as a dictator as he was giving a speech on the global economy Monday at Cambridge University, CNN reported. The shoe sailed wide of its mark and the man was led off yelling, "How can the university prostitute itself with this dictator?" The unnamed 27-year-old protester's court appearance is set for Feb. 10, Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman Emma Hardy said. It was not immediately clear what sentence the man would face, CNN said. University officials said there was never any serious threat to the premier or anyone else in the shoe-throwing incident, which mirrored a similar incident last year in which an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at former U.S. President George Bush.
