Mary listened carefully from the other room and finally heard what Tom wanted — a pair of sneakers! Full of excitement, she rushed off to the shop and bought a pair of shiny sneakers. Finally, the day arrived. Mary brought in the box of sneakers, packed in colorful paper. “Wow!” Tom said with a big smile. “I wonder what it can be.”“Open it and see for yourself!” Mary replied happily. Tom opened the box but did not seem that happy.
