Droplet Isolation(飞沫隔离)
Illness include: Pertussis, Diphtheria, Influenza, Mumps, Epidemic meningitis, etc.
1. Separated ward for each infected patient or the shared ward for the patients infected with the same disease with each bed at least 1m apart.
2. Medical staff should wear surgical mask during general treatment or nursing procedure.
3. Surgical cap, mask, goggles or face shield, isolation gown should be worn when working within close distance of the infected patient.
4. Gloves should be worn when getting contact with blood, body fluid or secretion of the infected patient.
5. Hand washing or disinfection procedure should be followed after taking off gloves and personal protection devices.
6. Transporting infectious patients should be limited to essential purpose. Patients should wear surgical masks whenever possible.
7. Ward ventilation should be strengthened and the ward should be disinfected.

Contact isolation (接触隔离)
Illness include: Multi-drug resistant bacteria infection, Enteric infection, skin infection, etc.
1. Separated ward for each patient or the shared ward for the patients infected with the same disease.
2. Hands should be washed or disinfected before or after getting contact with infected patient or the surroundings.
3. Gloves should be worn when getting contact with blood, body fluid or secretion of the infected patient. Hands should be washed or disinfected after taking off gloves and personal protection devices.
4. Isolation gown should be worn when getting close contact with the infected patients.
5. All the equipment and devices should be cleaned and disinfected after being used. Essential items of patient care such as sphygmomanometer and stethoscope should be used for the fixed patient.
6. Hard surface should be disinfected by wiping cloth which will be disinfected after use.
7. The activity of the infected patients should be limited wthin the ward. Terminal disinfection should be applied after discharge of the infected patients.

Airborne isolation (空气隔离)
Illness include: Tuberculosis, Measles, Varicella, EHF, etc.
1. Condition permitted, patients should be placed in a separated room with negative air pressure ventilation, or the shared room for the patients infected with the same disease.
2. Protection cap and N95 respirator should be worn when entering into a ward; the respirator must be fixed closely to the nose and should be replaced frequently.
3. Goggles or face shield, isolation gown should be worn when performing procedure with anticipated splash.
4. Gloves should be worn when getting contact with blood, body fluid or secretion of the infected patients.
5. Hands should be washed or disinfected before or after contact with infected patients and after taking off
gloves.
6. Doors and windows in the isolation ward should be kept closed all the time. The air in the ward should be
strictly disinfected regularly.
