By the end of April， the Lilac Collection fills the air with perfumed scents in violet[紫罗兰色] and magenta[洋红色]. The Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden is at its finest in mid-April， and the centrepiece of a two-day cherry-blossom festival. Dotted with stone lanterns and graced[使更优美] with a viewing pavilion， it blushes with cherry trees and azaleas. Turtles swim in the ponds. Be sure to visit the C.V. While you won’t find the spring flowers of the northern hemisphere[北半球]， there’s plenty to enjoy―the alley[小径] of royal palms， wonderful ponds afloat with water lilies of Alice in Wonderland sizes， and hundreds of species of orchids and bromeliads. Locals often come here on weekends to walk around， eat and celebrate[庆祝] kids’ birthdays. Weekdays are quiet and relaxing. The garden adjoins[毗连] a national park and has plenty of birdlife， which more than makes up for the lack of flowery[多花的] colour.
