Perhaps affected by this saying for a long time, we believe it right. However, as time flies, lots of things have changed. Therefore, I am eager to discuss what relation is the best between teachers and students. A teacher can treat a student in two ways .One is strict, and the other is friendly. Most teachers prefer the first way. To start with, we certainly have to admit that strictness is very effective, especially to the naughty pupils. As pupils we aren’t able to control ourselves well or fix our attention on one thing for a long time. We do most things because they are interesting or we feel like doing. We are always looking out of the window in class. Sometimes, we get to play games and forget our homework. On this occasion, strictness is a must. It not only forces us to do the right thing, but also helps us develop a good learning habit, which is of great importance during our whole life .In other words, it is the first step to success. Still, everything has two sides. Its weak points are very obvious. You see, there’re top students in a class, where average students make up the majority. Then teachers’ orders or suggestions are for the majority, not for top students. However, top students always have their own study plans and prefer special homework, so orders usually won’t take great effect on them. Maybe you have thought out that teachers can give orders only to the majority and set some freedom to top students. However, it’s impossible .For a whole class, teachers couldn’t give order to part of the class, for the majority would question why they needn’t do such work, but we need? It would be probable that they think teachers treat them not equally, and will not obey teachers’ orders any more. This is a difficulty for teachers. It also has another disadvantage——the communication problem .Since teachers are strict, we never tell teachers our personal affairs or secrets. Mostly we just tell them to our friends, but as students too, they couldn’t help to solve our problem, such as puppy love, communication problems or study problems .Not being solved completely, they always disturb us, influencing our daily life and study. I’m sure that you think that making friends with teachers can solve the problem, and you are eager to do so as well. But if we do so, new problems will come out .You see, an adult couldn't control himself well at times, let alone us students. However if teachers are our friends, I doubt whether their orders will take effect any more .You see, have we ever treated our friends’ orders as orders? We think they’re only jokes. This is another difficulty for teachers. Additionally, our parents have the same problem. Yes, we need to be friends, but not complete friends. We need to keep a certain distance, making us communicate well and willing to take your orders. I remember a story. One day, a lady had her rest room decorated. And a skilled worker was bricking u p the wall. Seeing large cracks between the bricks, she questioned why. The worker told her after this summer, the bricks would become bigger, and those cracks would disappear. That is not only decoration, but also communication. The principle is the same. Waste-Resource At A Wrong Place Every day, people have lots of waste to throw away. Such as used handkerchiefs, plastic bags, boxes, bottles and so on. I cannot imagine how much waste is thrown away every day all over the world. There are 4 sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Material waste can be recycled and reused. Such as metal, paper, glass, plastics and rubber. Old papers can be recycled. The ink is taken out by a special technique and new paper is made. Empty glass bottles are collected and the glass is broken and reused for new bottles. Organic waste is from all living things and kitchens, such as leftover food, unfresh vegetables and so on. They can be reused as well. They can make crops grow better. And this kind of crops is called “green crops”. They are safe to eat and are considered as “healthy food”. Inorganic waste such as building waste, broken pottery and china and cinder cannot be reused. But this kind of waste is becoming more and more day by day. So if they are not treated correctly, they will cause serious problems. The last is poisonous & harmful waste. Batteries, medical waste, electrical waste and old electrical apparatus all belong to poisonous and harmful waste. They are dangerous to us. Some dangerous waste can be put into metal containers and thrown into the deep sea. It will be many years before the chemicals start to escape from the containers. At the bottom of the ocean there is very little life and movement of water. All radioactive waste must be stored on land. That’s to say, if waste is collected, sorted, recycled and reused, it will save a lot of natural resources and energy. Waste is a resource at a wrong place, depending on how people treat it. As for me, I’ll do whatever I can to help. First, I’ll throw away waste at the right place. Second, I’ll use materials that may be recycled and refuse to use materials causing “white pollution”. Disabilities As one of the most special groups in the society, disabled people’s living conditions—not only their material conditions, but their mental world as well, really need more help and improvement. In our China, disabled people take up 5% of the whole population, and their problems will surely cause social problems. Fortunately, our government does well in helping and supporting disabled people. They offer jobs for them, give them training and teach the whole society not to discriminate but give them more care. Chairman Deng of China Disabled People Association recently received a Nobel Prize for Peace, which is a good evidence for government’s effort. But it seems that the society does not quite agree with our government—at least the majority people don’t. They don’t discriminate them but don’t think them to have enough ability to do things, either. They even sometimes help disabled people when they are in the mood. But the emotion in their act is not the love between equal people but the sympathy from upper people to lower people. Though they heard about Helen Keller and Stephen Hawking, they still thought they were superior to disabled people in all aspects. So if the government can change these people’s mind, the living conditions of disabled people will be greatly improved, for some jobs, such as engineers, lawyers, etc. which need more movement in mentality rather than physiology can be given to disabled people who are capable of doing that job. But unfair treatment isn’t the only problem disabled people are facing. Some disabled people who live in countryside or mountain districts have worse living conditions and need more help. Some workers who became disabled when working can’t get proper treatment or compensation, especially in the building field. It’s becoming a really good social problem. And also, some other problems may influence disabled people’s lives. Solving these problems needs efforts—not only the government’s, also ours. As a song sings, “If everyone of us gives a little love, the world will become a beautiful wonderland!” How To Treat Disabled People Have you been asked for money by some beggars who have disabilities while you’re enjoying shopping? Do you have any pity for that kind of people or just feel afraid? For whatever reasons, the number of disabled beggars bumming along the street is rapidly increased. Why there are so many disabled people begging in the street? The reasons are so various that we don’t need to understand. But at least, we know that they do not lead an easy life. So we should help them in some ways. The treatment for disabled people should go like this: First, accept them. Don’t be afraid of looking at the terrible shape of the disabled. Try to treat them equally. Because they are a part of the society, we can’t discard them. The second is to help them as much as we could. If you can be a volunteer and do some work for the disabled people, that would be very nice. That does good not only to the disabled people but also to yourself. Because you will feel good after your kind action. So give an air of warmth to disabled people, and the world would be much better. Nowadays, many people have the wrong attitude towards people with disabilities. They think disabled people are stupid and cannot achieve success. In my opinion, the reason why people have such a wrong idea dates from the ancient China. In the ancient times, people who can achieve success were always strong and powerful. However, as a matter of fact, history is full of examples of successful people with disabilities. For example, Beethoven, who lost his hearing, was one of the greatest musicians in the 19th century. He expressed the spirit of his time in his music. His music was very active, passionate and vigorous. A Review on A Tale of Two Cities The tale is mainly about the revolution in France, though the author wrote quite a lot about the love triangle between Lucie, Charles and Sydney. But I thought Dickens mainly wanted to tell us the society problem and the background at that time. In this novel, Dickens wrote some lively images like Sydney and those crazy revolutionaries. In this tale, we can’t see any absolute roles. Charles, though he was a brave and good man, obviously he hasn’t as much ability as Sydney. Sydney, a typical tragic man in novels, a man like him, usually has great ability—if he wants to do something, nobody can prevent him. But he usually has some weak points on characters and the most important thing is that he always loves a woman he shouldn’t love and 99.99% die for her at last in an extremely heroic or tragic way. The revolutionaries in the tale is not as full of justice and poor as usual. They got mad when they can get revenge for their unfair treatment. The fire of hatred burnt everything. When they were at the bottom of the society, they were calling for justice, for fair treatment, for freedom, but when they were in charge of the society, their world is up-side-down, so it their judgment of the society. They hate everything that connected to the very people who were against them, even including Charles’ wife, Dr Manette’s daughter. So these men are no difference than those former governors at heart. Though Dickens told us how the authority is recycling over and over again in some way, the novel is about something good. Love from S ydney to Lucie is one of the only few bright points in the novel and it’s really great. A man can sacrifice his life to save his lover’s husband. He does not have any personal purpose and just for his lover’s happiness. So Dickens may imply us, only love can solve the problems between people, between the poor and the rich, love is everything. Most of us use computers to search for more information about the interesting problems on the textbooks, about Iraqi wars and about Oscar.
