1. Do you have a hobby? Can you tell ussomething about it? What do like to do in yourspare time?   I have many hobbies, such as playing football,going fishing, climbing mountains and so on, and theone that I like best is playing football. When I playfootball with others I can make friends with those who come from different departments.Meanwhile I can learn how to forgive others’ mistakes during the match, which will help me tobecome more endurable in the daily life. Besides, I can practice my ability to work efficientlywith my fellows, because it seems that we can win the game only if we can work together in apowerful team. In a word, I can reap the great benefits of this hobby.   During my spare time, I would like to go to the library. I can learn other subjects in thereso that I can improve my knowledge structure, which will provide me with a better chance tofind a good job in the future. What’s more, I can get more references about my major, and bythis way I can also make my major improved greatly.   2. What’s your major? Why do you choose it?   My major is legal science which is also my favorite major. In this field, we are able to learn alot of knowledge. There are many subjects we have to learn, such as Criminal Procedure Law,Civil Law, Law of Civil Procedure, General Rules of the Civil Law, Marriage Law, International Law,Jurisprudence, philosophy, logic, history, politics and so forth..   The following is the reasons why I choose it:   First of all, I am interested in my major, I love watching the TV programs about laws since Iwas in the middle school and it expands my horizons. Studying this major makes me know howto become a useful, helpful and happy person, for very day, you are ready to help others whichmakes you feel so happy that you find you have made your value come true .   In addition, our society is in a great need of the skilled workers and experts in laws,because our country develops very rapidly and we need law to maintain peace and order, toprotect the rights of citizens, to secure justice, to punish wrong-doers and to make our goodlaws be applied justly no matter what cases might be. Therefore, it is significant to take legalcourse to make contributions to the development of our socialist undertakings. Last but notleast, as far as I am concerned, it’s good for my future career. I think I’ll have a good job inthe future. I will become a lawyer though the studying my major, which can make me earn lotsof money. So I choose legal science as my major. And I think my choice is right. And mostimportant, it will lead me to live a happy and wealthy life. 　　3. How do you like university life? Which aspect of university life do you find mostinteresting (stimulating /challenging /exciting /enjoyable)?   With the expectation of the university, I came to Xinyang Normal University. I love thisuniversity at the sight of her, and I think the university life is colorful, stimulating, exciting,enjoyable, interesting, meaningful, and so on. Most important of all, I find college English classis most exciting for me.   First of all, college English class is student-centered and only speaking English. In middleand high schools, English classes were teacher-centered and bi-lingual, English teachersexplained English grammars and new words in Chinese from the beginning to the end of eachclass, and we had little chance to speak English even in class. However, here English teachersgive speeches in English, and we students are required to answer some questions, discusssome topics, and exchange our ideas, etc. only in English in class. I have to practice myspoken English as often as possible, day after day, now I find I can state my opinions clearly inspoken English in public. How pride I feel!   Secondly, college English class is more interesting and full of activities, such as role-playing,English competitions about telling stories, jokes or tongue twisting. Students are active to takepart in all of these class activities to show their abilities and develop their hobbies. We come toclass not only for knowledge but also for fun. How happy I am!   In all, college English class is completely different from those in middle and high schools, it’sso exciting and I do love it. I bet I will improve my English and achieve more here. 4. What kind of after-class activities are youinterested in?   I'm interested in sports after class because wehave to relax after we study in class. Sports aregood and necessary for our body and mental. I likelong-Running around the playground or along theroad because it is full of energy and power, I enjoy climbing the steep and high mountain to seethe beautiful nature on the top of the mountain; I'm fond of skating on the snow or ice tobalance myself after a long time exercise, standing the pains and hurts over my body; I try toexperience the extreme-sports here and there if possible to make my blood boiling...... Ishould do something to make myself to be somebody, or at least to build up my mind and bodyto meet the challenges in the new life   5. What entertainment does your college (university) offer during the weekend?   In fact, many entertainments are available in our university on weekends. For example,usually at Saturday night, we can go to the report halls in the two main teaching buildings;enjoy some English movies shown by various English study associations. And the most exitingpart is, they are free. Sometimes, there are concerts held by the Art Department, which are alsofree. Of course, there are many other choices, say, we like surfing on the internet in thecomputer room of our library because of its clean and quiet surrounding. In a word, after five-day study, we can enjoy and relax ourselves through these entertainments during the weekend.   6. Are there many students in your class who have part-time jobs? (If yes) Whatkind of jobs do they do? (If not) Why not?   Yes, there are many students in my class who have part-time jobs. Some of them work aswaiters or waitresses in restaurants, teashops, or some other places like this. Some work astutors for middle school students. Some choose to sell books, clothes or some other smallornaments just like peddlers. Students who have part-time jobs think they can have a betterunderstanding of the society and their abilities to communicate with other people can beimproved.   No, there are few students in my class who have part-time jobs. In my opinion, there are 3reasons for this. Firstly, most of my classmates think doing part-time jobs is a waste of time;they may make better use of the time by learning more knowledge of their majors. Secondly,some students did have a try to find a part-time job in the very beginning, but most of themcould not find a suitable one. Because they think working in restaurants or teashops ismeaningless, though such kinds of jobs can make them have more pocket money. Last but notthe least, most of us have little understanding of the society, we are afraid of being cheated bysome wicked people.
