Legend of Dong
1. Synopsis
"Dong Legend" is China's ancient folklore.The birthplace of "Dong Legend" is located in Dongyong village, which belongs to Zhixi Town, Jintan County, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province (formerly known as Trang). There are multiple records about legends of dutiful son Dong and the seventh fairy and his son He
’ Sheng in Guangxusversion of the “Jin Tan County." In the territory
of Jintan, Zhixi, there are up to 40 multiple sites and in-kind (pieces) related to legendary Dong.
There are Dong Temple, Wangxian Bridge and Dongyong's
grave testament in the territory of Jintan. Under the Wangxian
Bridge lies the "wangxian bridge reconstruction to record" inscription completed in the time of Emperor Qianlong. The old scholartree where Dong Yong and the seventh fairy pledged love is still in Jintan. There are multiple records about Dong Yong, Wangxian Bridge, Dongyong's grave and Wangxian old stone and
’ so on in Guangxusversion of the "Golden Altar County." There are plenty of poetries that are written by famous people in all previous
dynasties singing Dong Yong and the seventh fairy in Jintan.
2. Historical Origin
Dong legend began in the Han Dynasty and first appeared in the Eastern Han Wu Liang Shrine stone, according to which Liu Xiang, the Han writer, wrote the story "Filial Figure Chuan Zan." In the time of Three Kingdoms, cao zhi's “the ganoderma lucidum
article” have description:”Dong Yong was incredible poor in
childhood and the eleder has not left behind the inheritance to him. He ofen borrowed money to support his father and he also frequently went to work for others to exchange for food to serve his father. But the result was that a large number of people gathered at his door for debt and Dong did not know to deal with it. In this case, God was moved by Dong’s supreme morals and a godness came to
weave cotton cloth for him.” Gan Bao, the Eastern Jin writer, told
the story of Dong?s selling himself to bury his fahter and the
godness’s returning to earth to help solve the problem in his book
—" Immortals ". The language is simple ,but the plot has become complete. In Tang Dynasty, the "Immortals First Roll • Piety,"
"Dutiful Son" and "the Dong Culture Change" and so on that are included in the Dunhuang Manuscripts adapted the story of Dong comprehensively with Confucianism, Buddhism, and taosim thoughts. And finally it uses the form of a combination of Tang Dynasty Buddhist Zen preaching about singing with folk literature to impact the spread of the story of Dong in the folk a lot. The episode
of “DongZhong?s in Search of Mother" is the unique art creation of

onto the stage.
3. Artistic Features
Dong?s story of good filial piety was regarded as a model and
listed as one of the 24 filial piety, which has close relation to people?s simple idea of morality. The core idea of "Dong Legend" is
to honor their parents and this is also the traditional virtues advocated by Chinese nation, which is consistent with socialist
spiritual civilization advocated today and has become an important
part of Socialist morality and customs. And this is the realistic
characteristics that the legend has. In the form of oral folk literature and through the processing of all previous literary authors, "Dong
Legend" gradually evolved into a earthshaking love of heaven and

4. Inheritance
"Dong legend" is well-known in local place and even the women

Zhongzheng; (2) Wu Xiaofeng, Li Yunfa, Li Yunliang; (3) Li Jincai,
