体育明星拿高薪
Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal of money each year. On the other hand, most people in some ordinary professions like nurse, doctors, and teachers earn only a small fraction of the incomes of these stars. Is it fair for sports stars to receive high salaries?
体育明星拿高薪是正当的:
1.Thanks to their efforts and devotion, the medals and honors can be gained in
national or even international games.
2.They benefit the society in their own way: popularize sports, present the notion of power, courage and wisdom
3 .They have to retire when they are young, so high salary ensures that they can have good lives.
认为不正当:
1. people who take other significant jobs such as doctors, lawyers, teachers and
scientists contribute considerably to the society, but they may not get high salary. 2. some sports encourage people to experience violence, and set a bad example for
the general public.
3. some sports professional can easily earn a large sum of money to advertise a product of a particular company or enterprise.

In a worldwide survey conducted last year, research found a vast chasm in salary
between sports celebrities and ordinary employees. In my opinion, the astronomical salaries that those sports stars have earned are not justified and it is unfair for nurses and doctors and teachers to receive appallingly low pay.
The benefits of these sports professionals from their spectacular performances are indirect and superficial. In retrospect, most people can easily see the absurdity of
paying sports stars such a large sum of money because their contribution to the
society is no more than to excite and entertain the bored audiences by participating in sports competition. Moreover, superstars in the sports can often make large fortunes
by appearing in TV commercials or newspaper advertisements. Acting as the mouthpiece of some multinational companies and boosting their corporate images, sports stars rely solely on their reputation and attractive appearance to advertise the new products.
In stark contrast with the glittering careers of those sports professionals, people who hold seemingly routine jobs are actually devoting much of their time and energy to assisting others in a direct and meaningful way. For instance, although nurses are
often assigned the menial tasks of cleaning wards and dressing the patients, they
constitute an essential part of the entire staff that any hospital cannot dispense with
because without them it is almost impossible for the doctors to carry out any working
procedure. Another example is found in teachers. They dedicate themselves to cultivate the minds of young children, but many of them, especially those in remote
villages, are poorly paid.
In summary, the extreme inequality in our salary system between sports luminaries
and ordinary employees must be abolished because it foster the erroneous belief that commonplace occupations are of an insignificant social value. In fact, many of today’s young people have already been led astray by the unrealistic ambition to achieve stardom.
