Background
1. The UN officially came into existence on October 24, 1945, with the introduction of the United Nations Charter. Now it has 191 members.
2. While peace-keeping is the UN's main responsibility, it also has programmes for education, better health and business in more than 170 countries.
3. The UN Development Programme sets up projects for agriculture, industry, education and the environment. The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) alone gives US$800 million a year to help young people receive food, health care and basic education.

3. Experiment and discuss:
Please fill a bathtub with about 3 inches of water. Now pull the plug. What will happen? What can you get from the experiment?
(You’ll notice that the water spirals (成螺旋形) around the drain before it goes down.
