A: How interesting! Where are you going? B: We’re going to Dalian in August. A: Oh! How are you going there? B: We’re going by boat. And we’re spending a day on it. A: Great! How long are you staying in Dalian? B: One week. We’re visiting Tiger Beach Ocean Park and enjoying the beautiful beaches there. Unit 2 Progress check Listen and fill in the gaps. Every evening Amy has a lot to do. First she has to feed her dog. She doesn’t have to wash the dishes, but she has to look after her little sister for a while. Her mum says that she mustn’t shout at her little sister. Then she has to practise the piano. She can watch TV, but she has to finish her might take her to the theatre. Finally she has to get ready for homework first. Sometimes her mum bed. Unit 4 Progress check Listen to Lucky’s conversation with Strange. Fill in the gaps. Strange: What’s wrong, Lucky? You look angry. Lucky: That stupid Pig says maths is easier than English! He’s wrong! I think maths is much more difficult than English. Strange: Maybe he’s cleverer than you. I think English is as difficult as maths. Lucky: Don’t be silly! Everybody knows that maths is more difficult and more boring than English. He also says that he’s better than I am at chemistry. He must be mad. Units 1-4 Review 1 III. Listen to the dialogues and number the pictures. Dialogue 1 Policewoman (W): Good morning, sir. Man: Good morning, officer. Policewoman (W): You really mustn’t drive so fast. Man: My wife is ill and we’re going to the hospital. Passenger (W): I’m not your wife. I’m not ill. Dialogue 2 Woman: Excuse me. 1 Man: Yes? Woman: You can’t park here. Man: But it’s only for a few minutes. I’m waiting for a friend. Woman: The place is only for the taxi. You can park in the car park. Dialogue 3 Girl: May I borrow your bike, Mum? Mum: Yes, but the school is very near and you don’t have to ride a bike. Girl: But I have to arrive at school before 8 o’clock. It’s too late now. Mum: Why don’t you get up earlier in the morning? Girl: OK. I’ll get up earlier tomorrow. Dialogue 4 Man: Excuse me, there’s something wrong with my television. Woman: Oh? What’s the matter with it? Man: It doesn’t work. I think it might want to have a rest. Woman: Ah. Do you think it might be clever enough? Let me check it. Unit 6 Progress check I. Listen to the talk among Eric, Judy and their mum about Eric’s birthday. Decide True(T) or False(F). Mum: So, Eric, next week you’re going to be 13! What about a party here at home?
