Nowadays, with the living standards rising rapidly, more and more people have cars of their own. The use of private cars is more and more widely. Maybe, people thought to have private cars are very convenient, such as working or travelling. But, the increase in the number of cars brings about a lot of problems, like air pollution, noise and traffic congestion. So, I think we should limit the use of private cars in major cities. In Beijing, traffic control is a good example.
Many residents are against owning cars. I think this view is wrong. I do not object to have private cars. But sometimes, private cars really quite should be restricted in some major cities like Beijing. According to them, private cars have to be limited in this city. The reasons for it are obvious. Firstly, cars contribute to air pollution. And Beijing is now plagued by serious air pollution. If people are to have cars of their own, the already contaminated atmosphere will get even dirtier. Secondly, private cars can be a terrible threat to the already heavy traffic in the city. If more cars are allowed onto busy streets, there will be more traffic jams, which is really a public hazard to all of us. The most important points are cars consume a large amount of fuel. Though China is rich in its oil resources, they are running out rapidly. All these facts allow of only one solution: to limit the ever growing number of cars.
However, different places have different policies. China has a lot of the gap between rich and poor city. In some major cities (rich), private cars must be restrictions. On the other hand, in some developing city or less developed city perhaps should to encourage the use of private cars, due to China has become one of the world's richest growth auto sales market. brought many convenient for people and enjoy, and it can expand domestic demand, promoting economic development and improve the standard of living, etc. Therefore, in some backward economy city, I think private cars should be widely used. Also, through the use of private cars, it will have more opportunities of industry. Such as sell cars, repairing cars, insurance and so on.
Too many private cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are to blame for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere, which are detrimental to people’s health. One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. Maybe in some big cities, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones.
In my opinion, private cars should be discouraged in major cities. In order to leave clean air, wide and safe roads and abundant energy resources to our descendants, we should reduce the utilization rate of private cars. As far as the great demand for means of transport is concerned, we can develop mass transit to take the place of private cars.
