Lee and I am an executive producer at ME*animation where we specialize in making animation work for an international market. I have myself produced shows for most major networks in Europe like the BBC (UK), ZDF (Germany), Nickelodeon international and a couple of shows in Taiwan and sold shows to Korea and many many more countries. The company has an increased cooperation with China and are currently producing a show together with a great studio in GuiYang called Kingland animation studio whom I met at the great festival AYACC headed by the esteemed Mr. Wang Liuyi. As a producer and creative person I have always had a keen interest in Asian animation: Particularly Chinese, Korean and Japanese. And I have been following these creative industries since the mid nineties. Why have I been so interested? Well because I was mesmerized by the different types of stories and genres that originates from here. And where there are great stories to be told you will find ME*animation. Hopefully. Let us first take a look at the Chinese animation industry as I see it. As a foreigner and outsider. And as one who is always trying to break into the international market and has been working in that market for 11 years. Please forgive me if my critique is a generalization and not an individual evaluation of one person or company. Please know that I am a friend of this country and the storytellers and artists who work here and my opinion and advice is one I give as one friend to another. 简历: Mikkel is the founder and executive producer of ME*animation. A company which specializes in creating and developing animation projects for the international market. They work under the slogan “Great stories for a funnier Planet”. ME*animation currently employs around 50 people all over the world, from writers to post production editors. The highlights in Mikkel's animation career as a producer/director has been several international projects such as The Sven Swimring Show for Nickelodeon and the BAFTA nominated Nelly Nut Show for BBC. He has produced animation that has been shown all over Europe and also produced two shows in Taiwan. He is currently working with Kingland Animation Studio in China on their co-productions. As an author and illustrator of Children's picture books Mikkel has created the picture book series “The Heroes from Cozy Forest” that has been published in China and Denmark and he has also written the illustrated short story “The Magic Stone Lion”. “Orphans” an action adventure Comic book is his latest work. Mikkel's track record in animation has recently given him the opportunity to serve as a consultant to the European Union and the China TV association. Ever since Mikkel can remember he has been acting and telling stories. As a child he entertained kids in kindergarten and later acted as the lead role in two movies and a play for theater. Therefor it was natural for him to combine his artistic talent with acting and choose a career in animation. He graduated from Algonquin College in Canada in 1998 and has since worked in the animation industry as a Director and Producer in TV animatio
